In what could be called as a tangible growth in IPR, is evident by the response that india is experiencing during the recent months.

Cell for IPR Promotions and Management(CIPAM) has approved Technology and Innovation Support Centre(TISC) at Rajasthan council of S&T. TISC is a part of WIPO(World Intellectual Property Organisation) and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion initiative under National IPR policy 2016.

The centre is designed to provide access to services like thematic search, technological trends, patent map, freedom to validate or exploit patent, bibliographical and stastical data and patent infringement among others. Rajasthan is the sixth state to whom TISC has been approved along with Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Punjab council of S&T and Tamilnadu.

Besides the existing Intellectual Property Rights facilitation centre, Goa will benefit by its own centre now. According to the recent proposal, Government is contemplating on a separate IPR policy for the state so as to be integrated with its industrial policy. One the core agenda is to explore the potential Geographical Indications (GIs) of Goa and ensure that these producers have a highly paid domestic market.

A US expert on IPR law,of American centre, has recently commented upon India's progress in the field of IPR laws, developing enhanced protections, and laws dealing with related issues.

Another landmark development in IPR is the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between India and Canada to increase cooperation in IPR. It is intended to promote innovation, creativity and economic growth in both the countries. The priorities in the agenda includes ,the exchange of experts for interacting with the human resources engaged in specialised IP fields, cooperation in the development of automation and implementation of modernisation projects, new and existing documentation and information systems in IP. The move is also aimed to raise IP awareness among the public, businesses and educational institutions.

Thus, all these are the tip of the iceberg and India has a long potential to develop in the field of IPR so as to surpass the developed economies.
